An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
