Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and advises that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as important members in the powerful family could help the party enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
Based on the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Questers and Planners groups.
